Abie earned an Industrial Arts degree from San Francisco State University where she began her focus in print communications. During her senior year, she landed an internship under the guidance of Lynda Weinman and Bruce Heavin at Lynda.com, where she was first introduced to the idea of interactive design for the web and opened her eyes to a whole new world of digital playground.
Currently, she’s a design point-of-contact for the global marketing team for IGEL Technology, her first B2B enterprise experience. She helped shape the brand for the US audience, and continues to thrive in the end user computing space. Prior to that, she worked in a couple of studios at Electronic Arts. She was a part of an R&D group for Xfinity games as UI Designer, which developed a subscription-based program for Xfinity Games Studio. At Maxis Studio, her role as Visual Designer within Online Marketing department gave her an opportunity to work on projects for game titles such as The Sims 3, SimCity, and the successful launch of The Sims 4.
Her main focus is user-facing design, providing visual solutions for presenting ideas in various platforms. Abie has expanded her skills through numerous freelance and full-time positions, both in agencies and in-house side across a variety of industries, and has enjoyed being included in teams at Lucasfilm, Industrial Light and Magic, Publicis Groupe, Silverlign, LeapFrog, Piperlime, Levis, Dockers, and more.
Outside work, she still loves the tactile qualities of working with paper and typography, does calligraphy on her down time to satiate her love for typography, and enjoys playing guitar.
